28.03.2024

Garching near Munich/Friedrichshafen, March 28, 2024. At its spring meeting on March 27, 2024, the Supervisory Board of Zeppelin GmbH unanimously decided on the early extension of the contract of Dr. Markus Vöge as Managing Director of Zeppelin Systems GmbH and Head of the Plant Engineering Strategic Business Unit. With a PhD in engineering, he will continue his successful work at the Friedrichshafen-based plant engineering company for another five years. He took over responsibility as Managing Director on February 1, 2022.

In the past, there had been several changes at the management level of Zeppelin Plant Engineering, and Dr. Markus Vöge will now be bringing consistency and a new strategy to the Friedrichshafen plant engineering company. "When I started in 2022, my goal was to create a solid basis for the long-standing and complex business of international plant engineering. This has been achieved after two years. Now it’s about positioning the company more globally in the long term through far-reaching internationalization strategies, tapping into new markets and keeping plant engineering on track for success – despite geopolitical challenges," the plant engineering manager explains.

Peter Gerstmann, Chairman of the Management Board of the Zeppelin Group, thanked Markus Vöge for his commitment and expressed his satisfaction with the development in Zeppelin Plant Engineering. "Zeppelin Systems is active as a solution provider in twelve countries around the world and serves a wide range of industries. Successfully planning and implementing plant engineering projects around the world for customers in the plastics, chemical, rubber and tire sectors as well as in the food industry is challenging and complex. With Markus Vöge, we have gained an experienced engineer and internationally experienced manager who can meet these challenges," says the Group CEO.

In 2024, Zeppelin Systems will focus on the further development of innovative and future technologies. The expansion of the business in the areas of plastic and tire recycling as well as manufacturing battery masses is a top priority. For customers in India and Korea, Zeppelin Systems is involved in the construction of battery pilot plants in the field of dry coating technology. The materials for producing the battery mass are mixed in the dry process using innovative solutions from Zeppelin. As one of the few companies on the market, Zeppelin Systems is able to process the partially explosive and toxic ingredients safely and consistently. With a newly developed dosing unit, Zeppelin Systems is closing a gap in the calendering of battery mass that is important for the market and critical to the process
