Compact and highly efficient cross-flow heat exchanger for degassing processes and drying tasks
The patent-protected CHE cross-flow heat exchanger is a central component of the Fresh-TEC® process developed by Zeppelin Systems and was designed for continuous industrial operation. It is used to neutralize odors in recycled granules (regranulates) and to reduce odors during the production of plastic compounds containing additives and fillers. Furthermore, as part of the Fresh-TEC® process, the CHE enables highly efficient surface drying of granular bulk materials, thereby contributing significantly to improved quality, process reliability, and cost-effectiveness in plastics processing.

Special Highlights
A key advantage of the system is the direct heat transfer via a gas flow that crosses the flow direction of the bulk material. This cross-flow allows higher gas velocities and therefore higher energy exchange. Heat transfer occurs directly at the phase boundaries of all granules, resulting in very uniform heating and reliably preventing the formation of hot spots.

A Breath of Fresh Air for Plastic Recycling
