Reduced cleaning times
The new quick-cleaning series for CFH and CFM rotary feeders ensures fast batch changes
The tendency for smaller batches is still present in nearly all sectors of the process industry. This is reflected in the compounding sector as well where the users’ demands on product variety continue to increase. This results in more frequent dye or ingredient changes and, consequently, plant adaptations or more frequent cleaning of the components used. Easily accessible and easy to clean components are therefore necessary in order to greatly reduce the times between the batch changes.
To meet these requirements, Zeppelin System has decided to optimize its recently launched range of rotary feeders CFH and CFM once more: the new QC series (QC stands for quick cleaning). The rotary feeder was designed with a view to faster batch changes and easier cleaning. The rotary feeder is quick and easy to clean. Thanks to its design, the rotor can be swiveled and extracted to achieve faster batch changes and facilitate its cleaning as well as that of the rotary feeder. Furthermore, the easy access facilitates inspections of the component and monitoring of the cleaning results.
The rotary feeder is available in stainless steel, aluminium or with wear protection such as ceramic lining. At the moment, versions of the CFH and CFM series are available in size 200. Models with larger diameters will soon be updated as well.
The CFH and CFM series of rotary feeders offer numerous other advantages such as high energy efficiency, robustness and the modular design which enables using the same housing for both the high pressure as well as the medium pressure rotary feeder. This provides the user with more flexibility when modifying the system or changing products. Replacing the rotary feeder to fit a new application can be done quickly and easily.
The widespread use of these rotary feeders on the market is mostly due to their high throughput. Thanks to an optimized ratio between inlet cross-section and rotor volume, the rotary feeder can achieve excellent filling degrees. Compared to other same size models, higher throughputs are therefore realized. In other words, a smaller size rotary feeder with twice the rotational speed can be selected for many applications. The rotary feeder’s construction also allows a gentle and residue-free product flow, therefore eliminating product losses and costly cleaning processes.
